Hello to all, I am new to this fourm, but not new to cameras. Have been looking to get into digatal, I like the D-200, at the bottom of this fourm I find D-200 as low as $599 & as high as $1800. Can anybody shedd some light on this pricing GAP. When I see a price gap this big, little red flags start flashing in my brain. I wasn't born yesterday.Somthing is fishey, besides the lenses. Thank you George alias Mack the Knife

Hey macktheknife The D200 is a great camera. It should sell somewhere in the 1600-1800 range. Anything less is probably a scam. To see what I mean you should read this: thomashawk.com/2005/11/priceritephoto-abusive-bait-and-switch.htmlMany people already know about this type of scam but if not read this article. I am confused though what do you mean by the bottom of this forum? Are there ads in this forum that I can not see? My best advice is to get the camera from a good trustworthy place, even if it isn't the best price. If you are not sure about a place I would say its a bad idea.

Yeah I would have to agree with Jeffrey, any D200 that is as low as $599 is a scam, unless it is broken or selling for parts, which I have not seen to often.

Those scam adds shouldn't even be on this forum. Makes one wonder. But yes, any low cost D200 is a scam. If it's not listed around $1700 run away fast, they're out to get you.
