(Decided to repost as a member!)
Hello everyone!
I've been interested in photography since I was quite young. My first camera (my own) was the cheesy 35mm that was offered free with a subscription to TIME LIFE magazine back in the early 80s. That was enough to get me hooked, LOL! After using the family's fully auto 35 for a while, I realized that I needed something that offered better control. My first SLR was a used Olympus OM10 which I absolutely loved. I upgraded to a nikon 6006 in 95 and really started shooting. I took a couple classes, mostly black & white and dark room techniques. I love working in the darkroom! Then life happened ;0)
I still have my 6006 but have since purchased an olympus dslr (one of the early ones with a fixed lens c-2500L) Although I can't take the pictures I would like, I have found that the convenience and cost of using the digital has all but replaced my desire to shoot film. Now I'm looking at the D200 and hope to make a purchase within the next couple months.
I came across this site, as have others, while doing my prepurchase research. It's wonderful to have resources, such as this site (and others), available to us that simply didn't exist when I was first learning. I hope it will be fun and exciting to watch this forum grow as I jump back into the world of photography!
Thanks for the opportunity!

Welcome.
I am sure you will love the D200 if you get one. It is a really amazing camera, and very robust.
