A couple of decades back, I did quite a bit of shooting for the music industry, including Nashville. Some favourites. Willie Nelson. Shot with F3, 200mm f-2.8 at Reunion Arena in Dallas Texas. Was enlarged to a poster and displayed in record shops everywhere. Click on the images for somewhat larger versions. The ultimate in cool - Roy Acuff backstage at the Grand Ol' Opry minutes before going on world-wide TV. F3 - 55mm f-2.8 MicroNikkor. Sweating profusely and driving the guitar at the maximum, Roy Clark at Billy Bob's Texas, Fort Worth. F3, 105mm f-1.8. Don Williams, at Billy Bob's Texas, for his album cover "I Believe In You", which was named 1981 Country Music Album of the Year. This shot pretty much ended my B&W shooting. It was meant to just be a publicity shoot, but was chosen for the cover. The art director wanted it in COLOUR! I made a stack of prints, bought the best air-brush in Dallas, and set to work. 48 hours later - without sleep - I had a print that was fine, so just made the deadline. After that, I shot colour negatives any time B&W was requested, printing on panchromatic paper. It served me well. Many times a client looked at the B&W and expressed regret that it was not in colour. When I said "I can give you that!", some real bonding took place. When a shooter and client bond, it means continued business! ;D More at www.larry-bolch.com/portfolio/models&performers/
