Hello, I began my career in the newspaper photojournalist in 1965 using Nikon F's, and joining the staff of a medium size newspaper in North Carolina and a stringer for the Associated Press. I worked there for 28 years as the chief photographer and black and white lab manager. I covered many news events including famous people, presidents and spot news. During my tenure there I implemented a color lab structure and processed the first color photo to run in the newspaper as offset. While working at the paper, I formed my own business developing special photographic techniques for copying antique photos using film and the older silver print process. Meanwhile, I continued my career as a news photojournalist, winning numerous photojournalism awards beginning in 1968 along with Associated Press citations. I now specialize full time in photo restoration, but I also take time to shoot for myself whenever possible. I've used Nikon throughout the years and have enjoyed the quality. Today, I use the Nikon D2X and D100 with a variety of Nikkor lenses. Also use the SB800 flash. I look forward to reading comments and information from the group and also contributing from my experiences. Regards, Tom
