I'm not a collector, let me just get that straight. I have 4 El-2's, 2 FT-3's, 1 Fe-2, 1 N90, 1 EL... They are all working cameras. Each of my sons uses one of my EL-2s on a regular basis. My wife uses the EL, I use the FE-2, N90, and the FT-3s.
Question is, do I make nice pictures? Prolly not. Most of them are snaps of family members and the occasional still life kind of thing. No wait, I use the FE-2 and N90 for taking pictures of my boys high school wrestling, cross-country, and track activities. I have a whole bunch of Nikon glass and one Tamron lens. The Tamron is... eh, OK I guess. Most of my Nikon glass is better. My 105mm f2.5 lenses (2 of them) are my favorite of course.
I shoot Tri-X mostly with Plus-X once in a while. I develop my film and print. I scan negatives for web but don't have any illusions that the scanned images are anywhere near as cool as a print in the hand.
