Hi,
Wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I have been a Nikon user since 1993. Started off with N5005 kit from Ritz Camera, then graduated to 2 N8008s bodies and all the extras. Was a dedicated amateur for a long time and mostly shot outdoor/ landscape (flowers, trees and rocks). After doing a couple of sessions for friends, I found I rather enjoyed portraiture and started studying proper technique.
Then began doing some families, children, H.S. seniors etc. on a part-time basis. I tested the water with wedding photography and decided that was NOT for me. After getting some studio lighting and backgrounds, I set up a studio in the garage and moved to medium format (RB67) for several years.
After moving to a new house and having several different family members recover from serious health problems, I did not have time for my part time business. Last fall I sold all the Nikon 35mm equipment and bought a D70s. Now that I am getting a little spare time again, I am itching to start doing a few portrait settings again, but have realized I have a steep learning curve with the digital technology and how produce images that I would be proud to show to a client. Hoping for help and advice from everyone here and if I can pass on any info, I will be glad to do so.
Randy
