;D I took my Nikkor 70-200 f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR to Manassas National Battlefield. I posted several of the shots on my PBase site. I think here is a good comparison with my Kit Lens, which I used to take similar shots in May. There is much more detail from my new lens. All these three were taken with the same D50, on NEF (Raw) and Auto setting. Today's photo with the 70-200 VR: www.pbase.com/carlg51/image/66293522May 13 '06 with Kit Lens (18-55 DX): www.pbase.com/carlg51/image/60158166Another from May 13 with Kit Lens: www.pbase.com/carlg51/image/60121141The 70-200 VR is a keeper, but I knew that.

Here is another shot with this lens, this time with my D80. I was shooting at ISO 1600 and I did not use the software to reduce "noise". This is a crop of about 3/4 of the original image and I downsized it to post on the web. (I always shoot NEF Raw). www.pbase.com/carlg51/image/68753734/originalThe lighting was overhead, Mercury High intensity industrial lights. The building was darker than it looks here. I used only available light.

Here is another shot with this lens - I have reduced the pixels to save computer space, and I did not reduce the NOISE with my editing program. It was shot with my D80 at iso 1600, in available light at f2.8. www.pbase.com/carlg51/image/68855215
