I´m not a super wide guy. I´m more everything between 50-105. But sometimes you need a wider view. But for that few occasions I don´t want to spoil my budget. So I decide to have one NOT Nikkor. And I’m not disappointed. Strongly build lens and good quality. Here are some test shots:

Hi. Very nice images. I Like the colours and composition. I have a Tokina 12-24 too. Bought it along with my D200. Have no regrets. It's sharper and less distorted than my kit 18-70 at 18mm and build quality is very good. I like the clutch mechanism.. it works well. It's 55% of the Nikon's price and 90% as good! It's as they say... a no brainer. Bob

Excellent - many of us are interested in that lens. I read the "head to head" comparisons from Rockwell's site, which included Sigma and Tamron as well. Also, the comparisons on SLRGear.com. Unfortunately, I would not get one, the three vendors that said they had them, from PriceGrabber.com, ended up having to order it and could not tell me when it would be available. I bought the Tamron 11 - 18, because one vender gave me a huge discount and through in 3 filters. The Tamron is not as good, in several specs., but I wanted that focal range in my bag for a soon trip to Idaho. I have yet to test the Tamron.
Keep us posted, I want that Tokina lens some day.

I also went with the Tokina. Tokina makes very hardy lenses with great photo quality. I have not been disapointed with theis lens at all.
