The SB800 for me is the best thing happen to me in the flash part of my hobby. Mostly speedlights are use in the evening a in-house. But with the SB800 you can create great results on broad daylight. Just set your camera on M. With the shutter speed you can various the background lightning. High speed = dark background Low speed = light background With the aperture you can various depth off field. Be sure the combination in the chosen M mode don’t give overexposure (see meterinfo in viewfinder). Underexposure is not a problem because the SB800 give you that extra light. Just set the SB800 on TTL. And then shoot! M mode on the camera is an very undervalued way of using the SB800. But shutter priority work as well No not working for Nikon! But the SB800 is for me a major reason to us the Nikon system.
