I have a D200 and am wondering if any other D200 owners with SB-800 flash are having problems with the SB-800 moving on the flash shoe. Its a little movement, almost like it is not a tight fit. Its locked. I don't know I could just be picking out stupid flaws because everything else is working just fine.

My SB-800 fits pretty tight on my D200. Although there is the slightest wiggle. I never even noticed it until now, but it doesn't wiggle any more then my 2 D70's, For me it is well within reason, but to make it a bit tighter you could try just bending in the metal guides on the hot shoe ever so slightly. Although if its not falling out and its not overly loose i would just leave it.

Chris, After reading the post, I checked my SB-800 on my D200 and found there was movement frontward and backward but not sideways. I don't think it is enough wiggle to be a problem.

Also a D200+SB800 user.
Tested the fit: A slight wiggle to the side, no frontward movement. No impact on the pictures !

I've read on other forums that the SB-800, when connected to a D200, will fire all by itself. So far, the loose fit on the hot seems to be the reason for it. It hasn't happened with the other Nikons. My 800 should arrive today, but my D70s is at Nikon Repair and I don't expect it back until sometime next week.

Very old American expression says: "Don't touch while working!".

mine is rock solid. You have to twist it aggressively to get even a wiggle out of it.
