I was wondering if there was an area on this forum for uploading photos for the purpose of a daily or weekly contest to see who had the most interesting photo. The winner would be determined by the members of this forum who all had one vote and could enter only one photo per member per contest. It might give this forum a bit more life, if people could interact via their votes and photo contributions. To conserve hard disk space, each photo entry would have to be a certain file size in order to not max out the forum's hard disk. Once the winner of the contest was established, his photo could be kept in the winner's thread and the remaining photos would be purged from the hard disk to allow space for the following contest. What do you think?

Actually, with the ease of adding links to other photo archives, and the availability of places to store and show your photos, especially Flickr, it's really unnecessary to start another repository. Open a Flickr account, and then learn how to use the Img tag here (the picture frame in the second row of icons in the editing window). Flickr will give you links to several sizes of each picture, so you can choose what you want here easily. And, sites like Flickr have done all the work of designing an upload workflow and handling the storage of the pictures... Why would you want to duplicate all that work? It's just that simple; Try it, and you'll want to post everything you've done here.

Flickr links show up as a photo when I browse this forum. How come this doesn't work from pbase.com? I use pbase.com and all I see in the forum is a link that you have to click on, in order to see the photo.

I have seen some image storage providers, at least in the past not let you show your images on other sites, I am not sure if that is the same way with pbase, I have never used them. Dose your images have a .jpg at the end? The forum might need to see the.jpg to recognize that it is an image? Post just the link and let me see if I can add it.
