Hi there, i have a Nikon D80 and have been using it for the past week and there is something very annoying happening when i use the camera on a sightly darker environment. The D-Lighting starts firing the beam which just makes the people i have been shooting contort their faces in agony from such a bright beam going straight into their faces. Is there any way of disabling the D-Lighting function while i shoot or do i always have to have it because i find it very annoying and off putting or should i say the people who i take pictures do. If not is there any technique that i should use to minimize its appearance since i do not want to have while i take pictures. Thank you for any help i might get on this. Thank you.

HI there, thank you very much for your help. you are right, i was mistaken, it was the AF assist light not the D-light, all is fine now, thank you once again.
