I have been using Capture 4.3 and 4.4 since February. I am intrigued with the demos of Capture NX. It is totally different. Are there any Capture 4.x users out there who switched to Capture NX and want to comment. I also use Paint Shop Pro and have active versions 8, 9 and X on different PCs. PSP X can handle D50 NEF (Raw) files, view, edit and convert. Thanks

I used Capture NX for the month trail and I liked it. Its very different at first but once you get used to it, you will find it very powerful. I was considering switching to it until I found Adobe light room. Now I am on the fence a bit, I prefer the way Adobe light room controls things and the side-cards it uses, but I dislike the fact you have to import into it first. My only dislike to the whole Nikon capture series that is it saves the setting inside the file, not in a side-card. This is only a issue when dealing with a ton of files because the whole file needs to be opened and saved instead of just a side-card being created.
Oh one more small thing about the "Captures" that always has annoyed me, when you export to PS in 16bit mode it loses the file name. Adobe light room keeps the name, its very small thing but it annoys me a bit.
Sorry I didn't go into specifics about the differences between capture and capture nx, but my trail ran out and I cant remember them in clear enough detail. Basically it is a good upgrade from Nikon Capture, but its also a pretty different experience. some may like some may not.
